Who can apply?
Anyone aged 16 or over is entitled to apply to us for housing and be placed on our list. The first step is to register your interest in applying for housing.
Please remember to include a phone number so we can contact you and discuss your housing options. We will then send you a housing application form to complete and return.
Who gets priority?
Our allocation policy explains how we will assess your housing need. We operate a ‘group plus priority’ system and following an assessment of your housing application you will be placed into one of the groups below, which will reflect your level of housing need.
Group 1 – Homeless (as assessed by a local authority)
Group 2 – Mobility issues
Group 3 – Housing need
Group 4 – Current Linstone Housing tenants who have a housing need
Group 5 – Applicants who have no housing need
How we let our houses
We allocate 50% of our empty properties through nominations received from Renfrewshire Council. Therefore you should also submit an application for housing with Renfrewshire Council and tick that you will accept an offer of housing from a Housing Association. The referrals we receive from Renfrewshire Council will be a mixture of statutory homeless and general housing need cases.
The remaining 50% will be let directly to applicants on our waiting list, with a small number set aside to deal with special cases and referrals from other agencies such as Women’s Aid, Social Work department, etc.
If you are homeless, are about to become homeless, are a refugee, or you or your children are experiencing violence or abuse from a member of your household you should contact Renfrewshire Council who can offer advice and assistance in these circumstances.
