Who We Are
» Staff » Wardens - Sheltered Scheme Managers
Sheltered Housing is designed for older people who wish to retain the independence of living in their own home but seek the reassurance offered by an on-site Sheltered Scheme Manager and a direct link to an alarm call system for use in emergencies 24 hour per day.
The main duties carried out by the Sheltered Scheme Manager include:
- General support and emergency assistance for residents

Anne McAlinden (Wed). Anne also provides a domestic service to all sites. In this role she works every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
We have 2 Scheme Managers on duty across 3 the developments from 8.30am – 4.30pm 5 days per week. Outwith these hours the service is provided through the use of Hanover Telecare Alarm Centre and Renfrewshire Council’s Responders Team who will call out to deal with any emergency.
Sheltered housing may appeal to you if you want to live independently but like the idea of having someone to call on if there is an emergency.
Sheltered Housing is known as a:
Support Service
- This service does not replace any current or future need for “care” services such as home help, meals on wheels, bathing assistance, or help given by the district nurse, etc.
- There is a cost for sheltered housing which is in addition to the monthly rent charge
- Anyone 60 years or over can apply, in the case of a couple, one partner must be aged over 60. (exceptions to this rule may apply).
As Sheltered Housing is now classed as “a housing support service”, we are required by law to register with the Care Commission. They have the responsibility to inspect our service, which is currently on an annual basis, to ensure we are complying with the law and the core National Care Standards for housing support.
